Innovation & Entrepreneurship

Students working in a TV studioThe College of Communications and Information Studies formed the Innovation for Network Entrepreneurial Thinking (iNET) with the goal of enhancing the entrepreneurial ecosystem. iNET is a unique program in entrepreneurship that brings together the curriculum through cross-campus partnerships, mentors, and entrepreneurs-in-residence. Students have the opportunity to take a multi-faceted approach in their academic experience while gaining real-world insight.

The program collaborates with partners both on and off campus to deliver:

  • Courses in leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship
  • Business plan competitions
  • Entrepreneurship boot camps
  • Conferences
  • Workshops

These initiatives all share the goal of encouraging entrepreneurial behavior. Ultimately, the College is creating conditions that widen the window of entrepreneurial opportunity to help create a robust environment where entrepreneurial ideas regularly become commercialized innovations.
