How To Apply
Applicants must submit the appropriate forms to the University of Kentucky Graduate School and separately to the University of Kentucky School of Library and Information Science.

To apply to the University of Kentucky Graduate School:
- Complete the Graduate School application.
- Send one official transcript from each previous school attended to the UK Graduate School.
- Send an official score report of your GRE results to the UK Gradaute School.
- Pay the processing fee for the UK Graduate School.
For specific information about the UK Gradaute School and its application process, please refer to their web site at http://www.rgs.uky.edu/gs/.
To apply to the University of Kentucky School of Library and Information Science:
- Complete the School of Library and Information Science Application for Admission by mail or online.
- Submit your personal statement. May be sent electronically to Will Buntin, Student Affairs Officer at will.buntin@uky.edu.
- Submit three letters of recommendation. Letters of recommendation are required, and are to be sent to the School by those who provide them. Forms provided the applicant may be used in lieu of letters. If you are applying for a fellowship or graduate assistantship, please submit three letters written by faculty members who have taught you in class. If you are applying for admission only, we encourage letters or forms from faculty, but may also accept professional references.
- Send us one copy (can be unofficial) of each of your transcripts.
- If appropriate, also complete the Application for Graduate Assistantship and Internship.

Early application is encouraged.
Receipt of application forms, transcripts, letters of recommendation, and GRE test scores will not be individually acknowledged. When all have been received, the School will review the materials and either the Graduate School or the School of Library and Information Science will contact you if further information is necessary. Upon acceptance, the student will be sent a letter of notification from the Graduate School. The admission decision is made jointly by the Graduate School and the School of Library and Information Science.
