Students Present Professional Field Experiences
On December 1, 2011, from noon to 2:30pm, several students enrolled in the Fall 2011 LIS 675 (Professional Field Experience) course presented their experiences in a showcase in the Niles Gallery of the Little Fine Arts Library. Students Emily Aldridge and Sara Wood organized the event under the guidance of Dr. Jeff Naidoo.
LIS 675 allows students to receive credit toward a degree in library and information science while gaining valuable experience in an area not previously explored by the student. The course requires a learning contract with the student and the student's supervisor, who must complete an evaluation at the end of the semester. Students must develop a final project, such as a multimedia presentation or paper, at the end of the semester, as well. More information about the course can be found here.
The nine student presenters are as follows: Emily Aldridge, Sara Wood, Amber Surface, Mindy Groff, Cassandra Rollins, Eli Riviere, Daniel Weddington, Mark Wetherington, and Lauren Coil. You can see examples of the projects in the Picasa album.
